WELCOME TO
BK Pilates – Optimist Park
Pilates should make you feel better when you leave than when you walked in. Stronger, more balanced, less tense, maybe even a little more awake mentally. That is the feeling we try to create at BK Pilates Optimist Park every single day.
READY... STEADY... PILATES!

BK Pilates Optimist Park
In Optimist Park our studio is about movement that is feels right and practical. Some folks come to our studio looking for a low impact work out. Some are interested in correcting posture after spending long days in front of their computers. Others just need an hour where they are not thinking about work, emails, or stress.
That is the nice thing about reformer Pilates. It is a come as you are kind of class.
We focus on strength, control, flexibility and balance without making it too extreme and aggressive. You will get a workout, but you will not be crawled out of the room! It is more about working with intent and learning more about how you can use your body. It’s a chilled atmosphere and everyone is welcome.

BK PILATES CAMP
TIME TO SIGN UP FOR
YOUR PILATES CLASS

BK Pilates was started by Marina Kaidanova back in 2012 with a simple idea —
exercise should support your everyday life, not leave you feeling broken down by it. Over time, the studios grew into spaces where people could challenge themselves while still feeling supported and comfortable.
Today, BK Pilates has communities across New York and the Carolinas, but the approach has stayed pretty consistent. Good instruction, thoughtful movement, and classes that work for different bodies and experience levels.
At Optimist Park, we want Pilates to feel approachable whether it is your first class ever or something you have been doing for years.

Frequently Asked Questions
DO I NEED EXPERIENCE BEFORE TAKING A CLASS?
Not at all. A lot of people walking into the studio are completely new to reformer Pilates. The instructors explain everything as you go, including how the machine works and how the movements should feel. You are not expected to “keep up” with anyone.
WHEN SHOULD I TAKE PILATES?
There’s no definitive answer. People attend weekly and can tell their bodies are working differently and that their range of motion has increased. Other attend 2-3 times per week. More consistency in the activity than how many times per week can help increase overall results.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO A PILATES CLASS?
Anything comfortable that allows you to move freely. Most people wear leggings, workout sets or anything athletic but not baggy. For reformer classes grip socks are often required.
