One of the main distinctions lies in equipment. For instance, in reformer pilates, there are special springs that create resistance and help in performing different kinds of movements. In addition, many people find learning how to perform movements properly much easier when using a reformer.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I DO PILATES?
It depends. There are no specific recommendations about the frequency. Some students come weekly, some – more frequently. What really matters is consistency, not the amount of workouts in one week.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO CLASS?
Anything comfortable. Workout clothes you can move in easily are perfect. Grip socks are recommended for reformer classes.
